Before I Forget...

With Christmas just a couple days away, I suppose I should record our Thanksgiving.  We were blessed to join a great family in the area.

Thomas started the morning early with a Turkey 10K.

The kids and I prepared some dishes before heading over for the festivities at our friends' house.

Both the kids LOVED the piano, that's Isaiah's hand sneaking in on those higher kids
We enjoyed some great singing after the meal (yes, these pictures are not in order, but hey, they're here).
Isaiah also got to jam a little with the musicians
Nadia was a big girl and sat by herself at the kids table for almost half the meal.  I was impressed!

She also enjoyed the rocking horse and getting to know our friends better
So on this Christmas Eve, I hope that we are all still thankful for the gifts that God has given us...

I pray that if you do not already know Jesus Christ as your Savior that your heart will be opened to the good news of the gospel.  If you don't understand what that means, please ask me!

My husband.  I can't imagine life without him.

Biscuits.  They're yummy!  They remind me of all kinds of wonderful things and people.  I like to make them, even though I can't make them as well as other people.

And I'm not the only one who enjoys them....

My little girl.  There are not enough words to describe Nadia.  She's energetic beyond belief, loving, energetic, happy, energetic, thoughtful, energetic, protective of her brother, energetic....

You recognize a pattern here?  I love you, Nadia.

My remarkable little boy.  What other 6 year old boy asks for a sermon first thing in the morning and during his rest time?

He also "reads" his Bible!  Like I said, he's remarkable, but not just for this, of course.

I love him.

Those two people in the back, yeah, I'm thankful for them!  My parents are pretty much fantastic.

It's one of those things where I could say all kinds of things, but it would never be enough.  Just trust me, they're wonderful, and I'm thankful!

My iPhone.  Yes, there, I said it.  I'm very grateful for my iPhone.  But I'm not just thankful for my iPhone.  I'm thankful for other people we know and love having iPhones, too.  Thanks to iPhones we can talk to family and friends with amazing ease through FaceTime and even Skype.

For instance, Isaiah and Nadia were sick a while back, and all Isaiah wanted to do was talk to Robin.  These were the first smiles he had had all afternoon.

Virtual hugs through the phone, with Nadia trying to give some, too

While as good as the real thing, virtual hugs and kisses are really sweet.

Marbles and buttons.  I love that my kids can be pleased and content to play with such things as simple as marbles and buttons.  It's great for fine motor development, and it keeps them content for a long time!

First Class East Gresham Monday School.  I wasn't sure what a homeschool co-op would be like, but Isaiah, Nadia and I all had a great time.  We met new people, learned some new skills and just had fun.

At Monday School Showcase Isaiah's class told everyone about the days of creation

Isaiah really enjoyed his class.  Every Monday morning he would ask for "boys!" over and over, but he really enjoyed the girls, too, as you can see.

I'm thankful for the Kelty Kids Carrier.  Thanks to these carriers our family has been able to do things that we all do together.  It's not the easiest way, but it works for us!

I think that Nadia and I can agree that we are thankful for chocolate.

I'm thankful that I was able to follow Thomas' footsteps and run my first 1/2 marathon!

So today is a special day, and I'm thankful for the reason.  Happy Birthday to my mother-in-law!  I love watching you play with your grandchildren and teach them at the same time.  I know that I'm not going to be able to tell them about visits with you until you're on our doorstep (or we're on yours) because nothing else will get accomplished until they see you!

While moving across the country was not my favorite thing, I'm really thankful that we leave near this:

We don't get to see the mountain every day, but when we do, I always get excited.

My amazing husband made this great tray for Isaiah to have on his wheelchair.  I'm thankful for my husband who always thinks of ways to help Isaiah enjoy his favorite things even more.

I'm thankful my little girl has her own ideas of what's "her thing" as she sleeps curled up with her baseball.

I'm thankful for The Muppets.

Thanks to Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo and Miss Piggy, my children can identify all kinds of animals and make their respective sounds.  They have learned colors and how to sing like Beaker.

Yep.  They sing like Beaker.  It's quite entertaining.

Oh, and the "balk" like chickens.

God has blessed us with many wonderful friends.  I don't have pictures of all of them, but I hope they all know how thankful we are for them.

I enjoy running, and I'm thankful the kids are patient enough and get along well enough to enjoy running with me.  I'm also thankful for this "pay it forward" stroller that's apparently been passed on through several families.

I'm thankful for the home that God provided for us in MS and for His continued provision as we made our big move across the country.
