Christmas Eve

So before we snuggled into our beds, we had some more fun with friends.  Last year we started having breakfast for supper on Christmas Eve, so we expanded from french toast and ham to quite the Southern brunch.

Our friend Trevor was the first to arrive.

Lately I seem to have a hard time remembering to get a good picture of the table, but here we are enjoying our after dinner sweets of some Swedish holiday beverage, fudge, sugar cookies, peanut butter balls, peanut butter cookies, and probably something else that I'm forgetting.  We were thankful to be able to invite a recently-arrived missionary family from Ohio to join us.  Thomas had met the mom and dad at the school where they all are doing their language studies.  Like us, they didn't have any missionary connections in St. P when they arrived, and they had a harrowing first 6 months; so we were glad to be able to give them a little taste of home for the holidays.
Their son Ian seems to have a talent for music.  He enjoyed playing Thomas' guitar, much to Isaiah's delight!

We enjoyed our Christmas Eve gift tradition with Lydia this year as she and Isaiah exchanged gifts with Thomas' help.
At last, a good picture with my friend Danielle!  I realized before she was leaving that I have lots of pictures of our children, but none of the two of us!
And then Isaiah said good night to Trevor before being snuggly tucked into bed while Thomas and I enjoyed getting everything ready for the next festive morning!
