Loves Music, Loves to Dance

This evening Isaiah and I made a memory. My only regret is that I couldn't somehow visually record this sweet moment. But I want to remember this always, so I decided to record the moment as best as I could in words and share it with my family and friends.

Isaiah and I were hanging out in our front room before supper. I was blog-stalking, catching up on some friends while he played on the floor. It wasn't long at all however before I felt a little hand reaching up and tugging on my pants, soon followed by a raspy voice saying, "Mama, Mama, Mama". Of course I couldn't resist, and Isaiah was quickly in my lap. We snuggled for a few minutes, when I realized that I needed to go do something in the kitchen that would require both hands. I started to put Isaiah on his motorcycle to take him to the kitchen, but he protested by grunting a bit and wrapping his arms around my neck. The blog I had been reading was playing music, so I decided that the kitchen activity could wait for a little waltz around the room. Isaiah laid his head on my shoulder and kept his arms around my neck as we danced around the room. As we turned I could catch a glimpse of him in the mirror hanging on the wall; he had the sweetest little smile on his face that got bigger the more we twirled.

Eventually the music stopped. When it did, Isaiah leaned back and flashed a big smile as he clapped his hands. Now he was ready to go help me in the kitchen and went to his motorcycle without any protest.

But I'm so glad we danced first.

I am always so thankful when God uses those moments to remind me of what is most important in life! I am glad you got to enjoy that moment with him.

That is so sweet! It is hard for me sometimes to just stop and play instead of running to get the next thing done. They grow up so fast and these times are getting fewer and fewer!! I think I will need to dance with Daniel today!!

I hope you enjoyed your dance, Carrie! There's nothing quite like it, is there?
